Some prominent Nigerians of minority extraction under the
leadership of a Former Minister of
Information, Chief Edwin Clark have called on President Goodluck
Jonathan to sack the Governors of Adamawa, Yobe and Borno States and replace
them with military administrators,
Punch reports.
They said this was the only way the government could wage
war against the Boko Haram insurgency in the affected states.
Besides, they added that full-scale state of emergency
regime was needed in other to bring an end to the reign of terror in the
troubled states.
The decision of the elders who were operating under a political platform of the
Congress for Equality and Change was reached at the end of a National Executive
Committee meeting which took place at the Asokoro residence of Clark in Abuja
on Tuesday.
In addition, it called on the Nigerian Armed Forces to adopt
more effective tactics aimed at curtailing and ending the activities of the
insurgents and to preserve its image and dignity.
