WEIRD: STUDENTS TIE THEIR HAIR TO CEILING TO PREVENT FALLING ASLEEP WHILE STUDYING

Now this is what I call pure genius. Why didn’t I think of this when I was a college student struggling to stay awake all night? As you can see in the pictures, these Chinese university students have resorted to tying up their hair using clothespins. Every time they nod off, the pins will pull on their hair, jerking them awake.

The technique became popular after two students at the Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University in Fujian province uploaded pictures of themselves on Weibo. Chen Tang, 20 and her roommate Huang Lu, 21, had been struggling with a huge workload and needed a quick fix to fight the urge to nap.

They had tried the regular methods – caffeine, push-ups and cranking up the air-conditioning – but none of that worked. That’s when they decided to hit the history books for a solution. A teacher was arrested on charges of assault after allegedly biting a 1-year-old boy as punishment, police in Virginia said. Prince William County Police said that 24-year-old Theresa Brown, a preschool teacher, has been arrested on charges of assault and battery after punishing the child for biting a caregiver on Monday.

MARRIED COUPLE USE CHARMS TO TERRIFY AND TRICK TWO WOMEN FROM NIGERIA INTO COMING TO BRITAIN AND WORK AS PROSTITUTES AN BROTHELS AND MASSAGE PARLORS

Two women were tricked into working as prostitutes by a couple who used black magic to frighten them into complying, a court heard today. The young women were allegedly trafficked from Nigeria into Britain by Lizzy Idahosa, 23, and her husband Jackson Omoruyi, 41, who are accused of then terrifying them with 'juju magic'.

The alleged victims, aged 23 and 29, were forced to eat snails and snakes as part of a black magic ceremony before being sent to work in brothels and massage parlours. A jury heard the women were in fear of 'illness, madness, infertility or death' if they went against the witchcraft by refusing to have sex with strangers for money.

And all the money they made from prostitution, which came to more than £40,000, was pocketed by Idahosa and Omoruyi, the court was told. Prosecutor Caroline Rees said:
